Jumpers for Goalposts is a new concept – a weekend festival celebrating the people who make football what it is.
Taking place at the stunning Printworks London venue in Surrey Quays Road, the event will feature screenings, panels, workshops, immersive experiences, exhibitions and live audience shows.
This is a two-day event on Saturday, August 3 (the first day of the football season when Forest play West Brom at 5.30pm) and the following day Sunday, August 4.
We are delighted that the work of football supporters clubs in London – including London Trickies – will be highlighted at the event.
The Association of Professional Football Suppporters Clubs in London (APSCIL), of which our branch is a leading member, will have a table at the awareness with the aim of raising awareness of what we do to those who attend the festival, other stallholders and a journalist who will be onsite.
The festival is designed to appeal to a wider audience than the typically male-oriented, highly visible world of football. Jumpers for Goalposts intends to show that there is still great togetherness amongst football communities with many positive shared values and goals for the still-beautiful game.
“Football culture means something different to everyone and we wanted to reflect this with an event that appeals to both huge football fans as well as those with a passing interest,” said festival producer Rahul Keerthi.
“There’s something for everyone, whether you like travel, music or design. Ultimately, we want people to see more of the positive side of football and to discover ways to get involved in football communities aligned with their interests or close to where they live.”
One other thing, on the Sunday there will be a live screening of the Charity Shield between Liverpool and Manchester City.
Adult tickets are currently priced £29.99 with U18s £11.99, U12s £5.99 and U16s free although they still need to have a ticket. For more details visit http://www.jumpe.rs
